Prenatal Yoga (Schwangerschaftsyoga) can help you connect with your body and your baby during pregnancy and can also help you to prepare yourself for giving birth.
If pregnancy yoga courses are certified by health insurance they can even be covered by public health insurance. You can search the database of your health insurance provider to find them though likely you will only find courses taught in German.
We looked around in Munich and found the following prenatal yoga courses in English:
Fem Yoga Centre
This yoga and meditation center is focussing on women’s health. Therefore they offer courses for all stages of the woman’s life.
The yoga instructor Liza was certified in a yoga school in India. She has specialized in prenatal and postpartum yoga and guiding mothers through the physical and emotional challenges of pregnancy and early motherhood.
To support women she provides a nurturing space where women can find solace, strength, and community through yoga and meditation practices. The holistic approach to wellness prioritizes pelvic floor health.
The courses usually consist of 6 sessions at a price of €115.
Natur Yoga by Nes
This course is led by Nesara, an internationally certified yoga teacher, who was born in India and moved to Germany a few years ago. She is an engineer and a yoga teacher and offers prenatal and postnatal yoga courses in.
You will learn physical exercises and effective Asana, Pranayama, Mudra and Meditation for three stages of your pregnancy. You will also find out how to manage labor and reduce delivery pain. Avoiding and managing pain, cramps, and health problems during pregnancy will be important topics as well.
You can safely start this course after the 10th week of pregnancy and attend the course in person or online every Tuesday from 6 to 7pm. The online fee is €90 for 10 dates. If you join the course at Nirantara in Unterföhring the fee is €150 for 10 dates.

SanMo
The trainers at SanMo speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and Mandarin and offer a pregnancy workout.
Controlled, tailored exercise can help reduce anxiety and stress during pregnancy. Active exercise increases circulation, which is good for both mother and baby. It prepares the body for childbirth and helps maintain good posture. The personal trainer offers special exercises that can relieve back strain and improve well-being.
You can attend classes for up to 8 participants. A single session will cost €25 or you can join five sessions for €99. The fee for the personal trainer is €109 per hour.
Beratungsstelle für natürliche Geburt und Elternsein e.V.
The association at Haberlstr. 17 offers an English prenatal yoga class for all stages of pregnancy. No previous experience of yoga is required, you can start any time.
You can join this 75-minute class suitable for any trimester to relax and find comfort in your pregnancy. The course includes 6 sessions and takes place on Wednesday evenings. The fee for the whole course is €90. Register by phone or email to [email protected]
