Frankfurt Kids & Baby Classes and Courses in English

Looking for something to do with your kids in Frankfurt am Main, but in English? Here’s a list of fun activities in English for kids of different ages – and parents as well.

This list was put together with the help of Amanda Graybill, a Frankfurt-based Childbirth Educator & Birth Doula, who runs a regular meetup herself.

In-Person Groups in Frankfurt

Familienzentrum im Westend 

The Familienzentrum im Westend offers several English language and bilingual courses and meet-ups. You can try a baby sensory or baby massage course and join the international family breakfasts. There is also an option for fathers to meet and Kietzee expert Amanda Graybill runs her Mama Meetup here.

All courses are free and you can mostly just drop by. 

Nests and Wings 

BUILD YOUR NEST & SPREAD YOUR WINGS IN GERMANY is their slogan and that is exactly what they can help you with. If you are new in Germany, just had a baby, are looking to learn German or are just looking for a possibility for you and your kids to speak English, you should join their courses.

They offer English support for new families settling into life in Germany, English mama & baby groups for new mums in Germany, and English lessons for school kids. Find more information on Instagram.

Some of their regular offers are the Mixed Monday Meet-Ups (€10 per week) and Mini & Me (€10 per week), Mummy & Me and Daddy & Me courses. You can also meet families from all over the world at the monthly international breakfast (€6 for adults).

Link n Learn

Link n Learn is a central location in Frankfurt where families can connect, learn and network as part of an international global community. Children and parents can join various classes and creative activities.

Find out more about the different classes (including STEM, Cooking and Baking, Sports and more) and their timetable and you can even celebrate or join special events at their location. Also visit them on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about the latest courses.

A course period usually comprises 11-15 weeks and costs between €245 and €262.50.

MainhattanMusicTogether

Music Together is an early childhood music and movement program for young children and their parents or caretakers. 

Their family music classes show parents, teachers, and caregivers how to help their children become confident music-makers just by having fun making music themselves. Because children learn through play, they make everything engaging and fun. 

They offer 10-week courses (45 minutes per week) in Westend and Sachsenhausen for €180 for the first child and €110 for a sibling. The third child can attend for free.

Offene Treffs – Mukiva 

Mukiva is a children and family center at Rendeler Straße that offers several meetings for families from abroad. 

Part of their program ist a monthly English language sing and read meetup, a Turkish playgroup, a Japanese playgroup, a meeting for mothers to learn and practice German and a playgroup for families from Eritrea. They also offer courses for children to learn and practice Arabic and French

Some of their offers are for free while the rest is offered for a small fee (currently €3 as of 2024). 

Outdoor Kids

Outdoor Kids offers bilingual (German and English) sports activities and holiday camps for kids from 3 years old. Camps (during the school holidays) include Football (Soccer), Gymnastics, Sports Camp and more. Their weekly classes include Indoor Ball & Movement Games, Rugby, Music & Movement, and more. 

You can take up to three free trial classes, after that, memberships start from €55 per month.

Speakeasy Language school 

They offer summer courses in English for kids and teens. Also a great place to take German classes. The language school is run by an American expat who’s been in Frankfurt for a long time and has two small kids herself. 

Helen Doron English

There are a few different locations for Helen Doron English classes for kids of various ages. Check their website for more information.

Other English Activities for Families in Frankfurt

Star Swimmers

Star Swimmers offers several courses, including baby swimming, toddlers swimming, pre-school, and prenatal classes. Juliana, the founder, previously taught swimming in Brazil, Sydney and London. 

Classes run on a term basis, with a duration of 12 weeks. Fees are between €100 and €118.

All Tours | Frankfurt Let's Go

Frankfurt Let’s Go offers walking tours in English, including kids tours and birthday party tours. Great for people that are new to the city.

Apps and Online Groups

Mama Maps

This app helps you find the best family-friendly places in and around Frankfurt. You can download it for Android or Apple.

Frankfurt mit Kids 

Frankfurt mit Kids is another really helpful app and Instagram account. It’s all in German but has a translation feature on the website and is super useful to find things to do with kids. 

Frankfurt English-Speaking Moms

This is a group for English-speaking moms and dads living in and around Frankfurt to connect and support each other. 

FamilienApp Hessen

The FamilyApp is available to families living in Hesse with at least one child under the age of 18. It offers numerous discounts with its partner companies and organizations. It also includes free accident insurance and a parents' guide. 

Afloat (Online)

Afloat holds monthly online meetups for new and expecting international moms. The virtual support group currently takes place every second Monday of the month at 20.00. Learn more. (Donation based)
