About 👋

Hi, I´m Julia.

As a Doula I accompany you throughout your pregnancy, birth, post-partum and beyond.

Wholeheartedly and holistically, I honor and acknowledge your transition from maiden to mother.

I feel very close to nature and weave this bond into my companionship with you. Reconnecting with the earth in my everyday life is a practice of gratitude for me and helps me to find a grounding balance in the outskirts of Düsseldorf where I am currently based.

I have lived between Germany and Uganda since I am 19 years old which has gifted me a broad perspective of life.

I am a mother of 3 children, two earthside and one by the stars.

My understanding of birth work is influenced by my personal journey through motherhood, loss & grief and thrives on my admiration for the process of birth.

My care is culturally sensitive and I am mindful towards bias and discrimination.

I am looking forward to hear from you.

(Price includes as well a one hour meeting ahead of the ceremony to gather your wishes plus all planning and materials needed for this day).

Birth Support: 1200 Euro *
  • 24/7 on call period starting at 37 weeks until your baby is born

  • Once you go into labor I will stay with you from the time you want and need, throughout your entire birth

  • Providing physical and emotional support, reassurance, assistance, suggestions and information

  • Support in creating an environment that fosters physiological birth and bonding between you and your baby

  • One postpartum meeting (3h) to nurture you and listen to your birth experience

Mothering the Mother (Postpartum Care / Mütterpflege): 45 – 55 Euro/per Hour

After birth I am here to nurture you. While you hold your baby I am holding you.

I am by your side, with an open ear for your story, your questions around early parenthood and everything that you are, may it be your joy or your worries and fears.

I offer:

  • birth debriefing

  • warming & nourishing food made from organic ingredients (plant or meat based)

  • gentle touch in form of massage/bodywork

  • herbal support for your physical and emotional regeneration

  • connecting rituals (e.g. placenta art, bonding bath)

  • light household tasks (preparing meals for you and your family, shopping, cleaning, washing/folding laundry, picking up children from kita/school and more)

  • attention and time for older siblings while you take care of your baby

  • support with breastfeeding, elimination communication, cloth diapers, baby wearing and more

  • a closing ceremony

If you like, I am happy to hold your baby so that you can do something that is good for you - in early postpartum this could simply mean having a shower or eating a meal without interruption.

I respect and honor the sacred and vulnerable time that is the first 40 days after birth and support the sensitive bond between you and your baby.

Note: every pregnancy ends in postpartum and deserves care, no matter how long or short it was. That means, I do of course accompany you after miscarriage / still birth / abortion. * sliding scale options for those with financial difficulties upon request for all my offers

* the costs for my postpartum care can be covered by the public health insurance if there is a medical indication and prescription

Closing Ceremony (4 - 5 h): 350 Euro

A ritual for transitions (e.g. postpartum, weaning, separation, moving or others) that includes a physical closure of the body with the help of rebozo shawls, massage, herbal support and more.

At this point I would like to point out my gratitude and respect to my teacher and mentor Indigenous Midwife (Partera) Lalita Torres who taught me how to facilitate this ceremony.

For every closing ceremony I hold, I am giving back part of the money I earned to the source of this wisdom: the Muysca Community in Colombia.
