Hello Mama!

I am Laura, born in 1986 in the UK, I now live in Köln Mülheim, with my husband, daughter (born in 2018) and adopted Spanish Greyhound.

My birth and postpartum experience was a mixed bag and whilst I had a great birth experience and I recovered physically very quickly, I had underestimated the mental strain of those first days and weeks with a new born baby.

The situation wasn’t helped by me living far away from family and childhood friends and I was left feeling alone and unsure of myself.

My aim is to provide support to women before, during and after birth, listening to them, reassuring them and supporting them.

I have a particular focus on English-speaking women but after 14 years here in Köln, my German is pretty good too!

PREGNANCY SUPPORT: €300

Pregnancy Support consists of individual meetings with personalised content to support, inform and empower you and your partner, as well as SMS and telephone support. Included:

6 hours of 1-1 preparation for your upcoming birth.
Help creating your birth plan.
Support in choosing which options are best suited to you.
Help your birthing partner learn how best to support you.
Ongoing support in your pregnancy via SMS and telephone.
Access to the English speaking Mums in Cologne WhatsApp group and monthly meet-ups.

COLOGNE IN-PERSON OFFERING

BIRTH SUPPORT: €1100

Birth Support provides you with continuous assistance during your birth. I work alongside your midwife and anyone else you’d like in the birth room, wherever and however you choose to birth your baby.

Included:

One prenatal meeting to discuss your birth wishes and learn how best i can support you.
24-hour on call availability beginning 10 days before your due date until you go into labour.
Continuous labour support, wherever you choose to be, for however long it takes.

POSTPARTUM SUPPORT: €45/hr or paid for by your Health Insurance (see below)

Postpartum Support provides you with vital help as you nest at home with your new family member. I will cook delicious, nourishing meals for you and your family, listen to your experiences, do light tasks around the house, organise visits from professionals who can support you in this precious time - I am the trusted family member you wish lived next door!

Included:

One prenatal meeting to learn how best I can support you.
10+ hours of postpartum support in your home.
Ongoing support in your postpartum period via SMS and telephone.
Overnight support is also available.

THE FULL DOULA PACKAGE: €1500

Pregnancy Support:

4 hours of meetings in pregnancy
A Group Birth Preparation Course to prepare yourself mentally and physically for your birth.
We will discuss your expectations, previous experiences and birth wishes.
I will get to know you and your partner and learn how I can best support you both.

Birth Support:

I will be on call 24 hours a day beginning 10 days before your due date until you go into labour.
I will be then by your side throughout your labour until you meet your baby. No matter how or where you decide to birth, I will support you.

Postpartum Support:

I will provide 4+ hours of postpartum support for you and your family in your home.
Providing you and your family with warm meals, emotional support and encouragement in this time.

Insurance Coverage

Many of our guide's services are covered by insurance. Please check with your insurance provider to see if you are covered.

Postpartum Care (daytime and overnight) can be covered by the public health insurance depending on your family's circumstances.
